Reborndollsshop® Buying Guide

Choose the best baby for your "Loved" one.

When chosen correctly, a doll has the power to be a best friend, a source of comfort, and a way to develop character and show creativity. So how do you make sure that the doll you select will be all of those things and so much more?

You can start by choosing a doll appropriate to the little one's age. Every age group uses dolls in a different way, which means you probably shouldn’t buy the same doll for the 1-year-old and the 4-year-old in your life.

Here are some features to look at in a doll to find the right doll for the right age:

Newborn Stage

During their first year, babies don’t really have the motor and cognitive skills to gently cuddle or play pretend with a baby doll (at least until they get a lot closer to their first birthday).

However, they will absolutely love to look at and clutching baby dolls. It is therefore important to choose a baby doll that has defined, high-contrast features and a soft, squeezable body.

Toddlers

Once an infant transforms into a toddler (around age one), they will want to get as much cuddle time with their new doll as they can. When it comes to choosing a baby doll for this age group, again, the softer the better.

That said, You also need to make sure it is machine washable as the imagination of the toddler is limitless and who knows what they will do with it? Keep in mind that this age group is still susceptible to choking, so keep any small accessories far away!

Preschoolers

By the age of two or three, your little ones are really starting to exercise their imaginations. They love playing mommy or daddy and treating their baby doll as if it was their own. Look for a doll that allows movement and promotes discovery, such as one that makes sounds, has a "heartbeat", can be fed or have its clothes changed.

And while very small items are still an issue, you can promote her creativity with sounds, some accessories for feeding, changing, and sleeping.

Kindergarteners

With independence and freedom taking center stage, dolls for the 4-6 year olds should be all about making the young girl’s dreams come true and being a great momma.

Grade School Girls

Once they have reached the age of seven, little girls do everything with their dolls. They become their best friends, and are always invited to sleepovers and tea parties.

Junior and Beyond Ages

While some girls have outgrown their dolls once they reach the double-digits, many of them just move up to more grown-up versions. Since responsibility and maturity are now present, this is the age to start giving  collectible dolls that can be treasured for life.

Conclusion

Dolls are obviously much more than just a toy. They’re an precious piece of our child’s growing up, a connection between the child and the universe of grown-ups. Doll play helps children to investigate distinctive roles through nurturing and offering trusts, dreams and encounters with companion and friend that will always understand them.

Holiday Supplies

Christmas

Christmas is a time of great excitement and anticipation, especially for children. Imagine a family gathering at home on Christmas Eve, singing Christmas songs around the tree, exchanging gifts, sharing the joys and sorrows of the year and expressing your heartfelt wishes and love for each other. Give your child a Christmas doll with blessings for Santa, let them have a bath, go out and play dress up together, and create lots of heartwarming and fun moments to play and grow with them.

Holloween

When it comes to Halloween, a holiday that children love so much, girls can become little magical girls and boys dress up as witches, so what is the best gift to give your child for Halloween? Halloween dolls, of course. Let your little one enjoy the process of you dressing them up. Kids can be inspired and imaginative, dressing up dolls in pumpkin costumes, wizard hats and more, and go trick-or-treating! Of course, there's also an adults-only CREEPY DOLL, so go screw someone over!

Thanks Giving

Thanksgiving is not just about thanks, it's about giving. When a child writes a holiday wish list, they are probably thinking only of themselves. Adults have probably experienced the wonderful feeling of seeing how happy we are when we give the right gift to someone who is sure to love it. Your child is sure to love this feeling too. Show your appreciation for your child by giving them a doll. In turn, by spending time with the dolls the children will experience happiness because of giving.

Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day is a time to express love to the one you love. There are many different kinds of love: love between lovers, love between parents and children, love between relatives, love between friends and so on.
